Book It Program 2017-2018

Our school is participating in the BOOK IT! Program sponsored by Pizza Hut.  Our goal for this program is to help your child to become an active reader.  Active readers love to read and that is the whole purpose of this program.  The BOOK IT! Programs runs from October 1, 2017 to March 31st, 2018.  Every grade will have a goal of how many minutes that your child should read daily for each month (This includes Saturdays and Sundays).   If your child meets their reading goal each month then they will be given a reading award which will allow them to receive a personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut.  Awards will be given out at the beginning of the new month when your child comes to library.

Monthly Goals

Kindergaten - October 310 mins = 10 mins daily 1st - 6th grade October 620 mins. = 20 minutes daily

Kindergaten - November 300 mins = 10 mins daily 1st - 6th grade November 600 mins. = 20 minutes daily

Hi, I am Kathy Caudill, Shaw Butte's librarian.  I am so excited for this year.  We are going to be learning a lot by.... you guessed it, READING! I love reading and we have a lot of programs to help you all learn to read. This year our school gets to participate in the Book It! program that Pizza Hut runs and Chipotle gave free kids meal coupons to every student who reads for the month of August.  I look forward to working with you all to encourage and inspire you to become the best readers you can be.  Have a great year!
