Mrs. Caudill is our librarian. Mrs. Caudill has been teaching in Washington Elementary School District for nine years. She received a bachelor's degree from Arizona State University and a master's degree from Northern Arizona University. She holds endorsements in reading and ELL. She loves reading, and enjoys working with students to help them find the perfect book and to enjoy reading.

Our Library's Purpose
The purpose of the Shaw Butte Elementary School Library is to support our students' education as lifelong learners and readers by putting resources in the hands of students and the school community, encouraging students to read, teaching students the skills necessary to evaluate information, and encouraging student responsibility.
Guidelines and Expectations
All students are required to have thier ID's in order to check out. All students are expected to be responsible for the care and condition of the library books they choose.
Preschool, Head Start, kindergarten and first grade students may check out one book. Second, third, fourth, and fifth grade students may check out two books. Sixth grade students may check out three books.
Checkout periods are for one 6-day cycle. All books are expected to be returned to our library after each 6-day cycle. If students would like to renew their library book, they may bring their book to the library for another 6-day renewal period.
Staff members have unlimited access to books and materials available in our library. Parents may stop in with their child and check out books for home reading.
